Canada has three levels of government: federal, provincial (or territorial) and municipal. The federal government and most provincial and territorial governments have websites with information specifically for newcomers. Many municipal governments also have websites with local information for newcomers.

Refugee figures at a glance

As of 2014, around the world there are 19.5 million refugees of concern to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Most of these refugees are in Asian and in Africa.
